How she teaches

From a 10-minute message to a child who looks forward to study time.

Designed for parents who don't have hours to spare on getting started.

Alka in friendly conversation with a student during a tuition session

The five steps from first message to first lesson

  1. 01

    Send a 10-minute message

WhatsApp is fastest. Tell Alka your child's grade and what's worrying you. She takes it from there.

  2. 02

A friendly chat — about your child, not a sales pitch

A short call (or a thread of WhatsApps if you prefer) so Alka can understand your child's grade, board, current confidence, and what's getting in the way.

  3. 03

    A personalised recommendation

Alka suggests format (one-to-one or small group), frequency, and the focus areas to start with — explained in plain language.

  4. 04

    A real Trial Lesson

Not a sales call. Your child meets Alka and tries the approach. You're welcome to sit in for the first ten minutes.

  5. 05

    Start regular classes

Only if you're confident it's the right fit. Fees are agreed clearly upfront before the first paid session.

A few things parents like to know

Frequency that works for your week

Most children do best with one or two focused sessions per week. Alka recommends; you decide.

Weekly Updates

What was covered, what's clicking, what to gently practise at home. Sometimes a short note, sometimes a quick phone call. No jargon.

Rewards & Recognition

Small, thoughtful nudges that keep children motivated — recognising effort, curiosity and progress, not just marks. Children stay engaged because they feel seen.

One message is enough to change anything

Pace, format, focus — adjusted to fit your child, not the other way round. Just say.

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

I work full-time. Will I be expected to supervise practice?

No. Practice is short, structured, and designed to be done independently by your child. You only need to make sure the device is charged.

What does 'concept-first' actually mean in a session?

Alka spends the first few minutes checking what your child actually understands, then teaches the 'why' before the 'how'. Marks improve as a side-effect, not the goal.

My child has lost interest in studying. Can it really come back?

Yes — almost always, and usually faster than parents expect. Curiosity returns when a child feels safe to say 'I don't get it.'

Which grades and boards does Alka teach?

Grades 2 through 9 across CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and International Boards (British and New York).

Are sessions online or offline?

Both. Offline classes are available locally; online classes work well for families across India and abroad.

Are sessions one-to-one or in groups?

One-to-one is the default. Small, focused group batches are arranged when there's a good fit between learners.

How will I know my child is progressing?

You'll get a Weekly Update from Alka — usually a short note, sometimes a quick phone call. Plus an open WhatsApp line if you want to ask anything mid-week.

How are fees discussed?

Fees are agreed clearly upfront, after the Trial Lesson, based on subject, frequency and format. No hidden costs.

Do you teach families overseas / in different time zones?

Yes. Many families abroad book regular slots that fit their evenings — UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and the US so far.
